Last October, I was tagged in the facebook photo below.

It was taken at my grandparents 60th anniversary party, and a few minutes after that photo was taken my grandmother came up to me and said, “You’ve gotten quite a bit bigger since i last saw you, haven’t you???” I got my feelings hurt and spent the rest of the evening in tears… but, that was the day I realized just how much weight I’d gained in the past few years, and just how unhappy I really was.

I started counting calories, and lost 20 lbs fairly quickly… I gained a little confidence, I lost a little more weight… got some more confidence, and started running.

I ran my first 5k in February. Then another one in March. After a couple months of running, I started biking. I did a 40 mile ride in April. Then another 5k in May. In May I started lifting weights and lost some more weight… at first I just stayed in the women’s section of the gym. Now, it’s my gym, and I’ll go anywhere I want! (Ok, not the men’s locker room!)… Now I lift heavy, run, bike, and do anything I can to stay active..

Anywho, I've lost 60 lbs, ran a half marathon, and now I'm working on getting stronger and faster!

This year, for the first time in my life, I owed money!!!! Not cool!!!!! I’ve always gotten most of what I paid back, because I’ve always made so little… but, now that I make slightly more, and don’t go to school, I have to pay waaaaay more… I’m being punished for not having kids and not being married!!!!
